Church Visiting

We are a group visiting local churches to learn about their origins and history, from a member of the church. The visits include a tour of the building where points of interest are discussed and explained. Usually a meal, or some form of refreshment is also arranged, making the visit an enjoyable social activity.
The visits are announced at the monthly meetings, when names are taken to join the next outing.
Please contact the Group Leader for more details.
A visit has been arranged on July 17th, 2018 to Englesea Brook Chapel and Museum (see below).
The chapel is near Alsager in Cheshire, and there will be a guided tour of 1½ hours, so a packed lunch is suggested. The cost will be £20, to include mini-bus transport, the guided tour and driver's gratuity. Pick up will be at Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church and at Heald Green Village Hall. Contact Philippa Harrison for further details and booking.

Since 1986 it has been a museum of Primitive Methodism. The building is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.
